ISSUE #6 "Nagula Pashtun: Lord Of The Taxi" Game Master: Chris Players: Glenda, Lewis, Phil PCs: Golden Girl, Stand-In, Beholder Experience Points Awarded: 3 points each Synopsis: The players explored their powers and encountered Nagula Pashtun, a.k.a. The Indian, a monstrous giant cobra who made a taxi depot into a base of hostages, drugs, and guns. Details: Lamont Cranston became involved when some guys were looking for his former next door neighbor. He rescued one of his former neighbor's kids from the trunk, ran him to safety (in street clothes) and then beat up some thugs with a rolling pin (in street clothes). Lamont learned he could drain strength from others in this encounter, when he went to (non-lethally) choke a bad guy. The kid's sister was being held in an old taxi company facility, taken over by Nagula Pashtun. Golden Girl became involved in the scenario because of an encounter with thugs in her office who had made some kind of mistake that led her to the scene. Basically, they had tried to nab or extort the wrong person, ended up in her office, and being still unable to exactly control her strength, she hurt them pretty bad and managed to make them tell her what they were up to. I don't remember the details .... it may be that the person the thugs were kidnapping was supposed to have been taken hostage by Nagula because of crossing him. Wolfie got involved because Lamont paged him or called him. Also in this adventure, several of the characters did some things that were important to them in their lives, including experimenting with powers. At one point, Wes Craven took Golden Girl out to a field with a pick-up truck full of old telephones for practice in strength control (pushing phone buttons without destroying the phone, etc). At least one small animal died. Moving right along ... As the heroes started getting an idea of the threat of "The Indian", they gathered together in an alley that had a view of the Taxi facility. They first took all the hostages (held in an oil / servicing pit) to safety. They later encountered some thugs sent out in a car to look for the hostages. Golden Gal performed some feats such as using her strength to stop a moving car and rip out the steering column. Lamont Cranston smacked around some thugs to get information, and he had a tete-a-tete with a pistol wielding thug. Lamont ran along the wall, dodging the bullets of the man on the ground, until Lamont was able to run past him at full speed and connect, rendering the thug unconscious. Finally, in the main facility, it turned out that Nagula Pashtun (a giant cobra) and his thugs were running guns, drugs, and the like. They had a full drug lab. Golden Girl, having a fear of snakes, fled the scene (since Nagula is a huge serpent 20 feet long or more). The Beholder killed several guards and set the whole place on fire because he used a cone eye-beam attack on a leaping guard dog that was standing in front of stacks of ammunition crates. This set the facility on fire, leading to a poisonous burning drug cloud that required the city to bring in HAZ-MAT suits ... the city never learned who did it, however. Lamont ended up trying to save the villain's henchman guards but most died from smoke inhalation. The Beholder himself almost died when he fell into the tunnels leading to Nagula's pillow-lined water tower lair (the wide angle beam amongst feather pillows in a vertical shaft was a bad idea). Lamont was particularly upset with Beholder for all the wanton killing and destruction, even if half of it was accidental on the Beholder's part. |
